Welcome to an auspicious bundle of joys in the form of another stunning October; delightfully harmonizing with the sentiments echo by Anne. The moment the calendar flipped, our house underwent a transformation. Kaitlyn sprung out of bed earlier than usual, reached into the Halloween boxes, and kicked our home decor’s festivity up a notch. From a warm autumn dwelling, our home has turned into a cozy Halloween sanctuary, and oh, the thrill it brought to my kid was undeniable! On another note, here are a few decor items that will give a spooky touch to your home without burning a hole in your pocket.
Today is a day brimming with anticipated excitement and anticipated activities – playdates, grandma visits, soccer matches, riveting football games await us. And don’t let me start about the promising weather forecast – a day filled with warmth and sunshine – the perfect setting to paint lasting memories. But before we embark on this whirlwind of a day, let’s unravel my Friday Favorites!
First up, September brought on an assortment of unconventional Amazon picks. I couldn’t help but chuckle at a few items that were way off my usual realm. They were nestled among our belongings thanks to David’s venture into product reviewing. He rated a range of items from gardening tools to energy monitoring equipment. That being said, I must commend the positive reception he’s been getting! Here’s a peek at some of this month’s top choices which can be found on my online storefront:
– Battery Operated Backpack Sprayer with 4 Gallon Capacity
– The Sensational Emporia and Sense Home Energy Monitors
– Decorative Faux Fall Mums
– The Artisan Sourdough Baking Book – Spiral Edition
– A handy, 16 oz Stainless Steel Thermos for Lunch.
Secondly, our romantic evening out at the recently re-opened ‘The Lazy Goat.’ A refined dining spot located in Greenville, this place should be on your must-visit list for its scenic location, overlooking the Reedy River and the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The restaurant’s calming and sophisticated ambiance was cherries on top of our date night cake. While the scrumptious menu was a feast for the eyes, taste-wise, the meal was a solid 7/10. Remember to salt your crispy truffle fries and pair them with a suitable dip. The succulent lamb kabobs were an absolute hit and were rightly devoured. The rest of the dishes unfortunately didn’t hit the mark, but we’d still return for the idyllic location and top-tier staff treatment.
On to my fall garden endeavors, or the lack thereof. My motivation seems to be as withered as my summer plants, which I’ve sadly replaced with fresh soil and a variety of seeds. Will the little sprouts of carrots, broccoli, cabbage, kale, parsley, dill, sage, thyme, and oregano emerge victorious? Ah, only time will be the judge of that. I’ve also been flirting with the idea of a garlic plantation, and perhaps reviving my indoor herb garden.
This week, we enjoyed a family dinner with Pioneer Woman’s Pot Roast. As a no-fuss, slow-cooked dish that gradually fills your home with a divine aroma, this grand meal is nothing short of epic. Paired with quick and fluffy mashed potatoes made in our trusty Instant Pot, it was very well-received, especially by David!
In other news, my friend with her wise chicken-know-how brought a shocking revelation about my pet chickens, Duck & Nugget confirming they are indeed roosters. This new fact broke my heart a little, but thankfully another friend found the perfect new home for my feathered buddies. An expansive 50-acre nest, managed by a kind couple who shelter cows, goats, and chickens, awaited them. Although a little teary-eyed while making this tough decision, I knew it was for the better.
Thank you for dropping by to share these filled-to-the-brim moments of our lives. Wishing all of you a fantastic weekend, filled with boundless joy and beautiful memories.
