Greetings, everyone! It delights me to usher in the refreshing month of October. As Anne rightly acknowledges, it’s a joy to inhabit a world that radiates the charm of the October season.
On the first day of October, my dedicated assistant Kaitlyn captured the spirit of Halloween by transforming our home decor to celebrate this eerie yet exciting seasonal shift. I completely resonate with her infectious enthusiasm, and I believe her efforts will inspire you to add that special Halloween touch to your spaces. Remember, get the best value for your money in terms of Halloween decorations to create the ultimate spooky vibe.
There’s a lot to look forward to as we welcome the weekend – meetups with pals at the park, visits from dear ones, thrilling soccer games to witness, and some football action packed excitement. But before we indulge in the weekend fun, let’s dive into our Top Five Highlights of this week.
ONE: Discover Popular Amazon Finds
It’s a pleasure to see that my curated list of Amazon favorites is being put to good use. You’ll find some unusual entries that aren’t typically my field of expertise; that’s thanks to David who’s started reviewing products within his specialty areas including yard care, home improvement, and energy monitoring. Explore these useful suggestions at my Amazon storefront:
* 4 Gallon Battery Powered Backpack Sprayer
* Emporia Home Energy Monitor and the Sense Energy Monitor
* Faux Fall Mums
* Artisan Sourdough (spiral edition)
* Stainless Steel 16 oz Lunch Thermos
TWO: A Night Out at The Lazy Goat
This week, David and I visited the newly reopened restaurant, The Lazy Goat. The stunning location by the Reedy River and the Swamp Rabbit Trail offers pleasant people watching. The brilliant staff creates a welcoming ambiance while the visually appealing food does satisfy to a certain extent. The truffle fries and lamb kabobs were delightful, whereas other dishes were quite satisfactory.
THREE: The Autumn Garden
While my efforts towards the autumn garden have been somewhat relaxed, I’ve managed to clear out old summer plants, enrich the soil, and plant a variety of seeds. The sown seeds include carrots, broccoli, cabbage, kale, parsley, dill, sage, thyme, and oregano. Let’s wait and see if these crops sprout and grace my garden. Do let me know about your fall planting activities too!
FOUR: Pioneer Woman Pot Roast Recipe
I tried out the Pioneer Woman Pot Roast recipe and it was a huge hit! Though it’s not a typical weeknight meal, it makes for a splendid Sunday family feast. Pair it with some Instant Pot mashed potatoes and you have a delicious family dinner prepared.
FIVE: New Home for ‘Duck & Nugget’
Our feathered companions Duck & Nugget have indeed turned out to be roosters. Wisconsin farm owners have graciously agreed to take them in, providing a safe and loving environment. Although it might be a sad goodbye, it is certainly the best decision for our rooster friends.
Thank you for visiting the blog today! Here’s hoping your weekend is brimming with fun and positivity, just like ours is in anticipation of all the exciting plans laid out. A reminder to stay grateful, enjoy authentically, and welcome the charm of October with open hearts.
