Welcome to the glorious mélange of a vibrant autumn Friday! Isn’t it delightful to be part of a world that gives us the wonders of October? My daughter Kaitlyn embraced the spirit of the season at the crack of dawn on October 1st by bringing out our Halloween magic box and transforming our lovely autumn abode into a charming, whimsical haunted house. It’s a sheer joy to witness her festivity. As a gentle nudge, remember these are the most value-packed additions to your Halloween décor.
The day is filled with anticipations- playtime in the park with friends, grandma’s visit, the girls’ soccer match, and promising weather that hints a bonding time over a football game. But before we plunge into our delightful busy bee schedule, let’s embark on our invigorating Friday Five!
ONE: Gems From Your Amazon Favourites In September
My heart dances with glee as I list the Amazon favs, with a few unexpected items making their way in. This is thanks to David sharing his product review prowess in domains closer to his heart- home improvement, energy conservation etc., which seem to be quite beneficial to our readers. Find these products on my profile.
– 4-Gallon Battery-Operated Backpack Sprayer
– Emporia Smart Home Energy Monitor and Sense Energy Monitor
– Artificial Autumn Mums
– Artisan Sourdough (spiral edition)
– 16oz Stainless Steel Lunch Thermos
TWO: A Night Out At The Lazy Goat, Greenville
An immense delight was experienced as David and I savored a dinner at the re-launched The Lazy Goat this week. The eating joint enjoys an envied location by the Reedy River and the Swamp Rabbit Trail, making it quite a spot for people-watching. The inner décor impressed us with its refined beauty, the food was visually pleasing, and the staff service exemplary. On a scale of 10, the food got a decent 7 from us. But then, the gourmet adventure was filled with hits and misses. The beautifully seared lamb kabobs were heavenly, a melange of flavors, and the crispy truffle fries were a treat. The rest of the menu left the palate wanting for more. Yet, the malbec was quite a delight.
THREE: Autumnal Efforts In The Garden
I can’t help but confess a relaxed approach toward my autumn garden. Having uprooted all weary summer plants, I added fresh soil bags, tilled the garden, and just recently sowed a mix of seeds – carrots, broccoli, cabbage, kale, dill, parsley, sage, thyme, and oregano. The future of these green sprouts is an exciting mystery only time will unveil!
FOUR: A Pioneer Woman’s Delicious Pot Roast
This week I indulged in a pot roast recipe from Pioneer Woman and it was indeed a hit! With a slow-cooking investment of four hours, this isn’t your regular weeknight dinner but makes for an epic Sunday family feast. Paired with Instant Pot mashed potatoes, the aroma wafting from your oven will leave your home smelling like a dream.
Amidst all delights, the week came with a heart-tugging reality. Despite being in denial, it was confirmed: Duck & Nugget, our adorable pets, are indeed roosters. A new home beckons them, in a sprawling farm of 50 acres. As we prepare for a teary goodbye, it just proves I am no farm girl and my heart is too tender to part with my dear feathery companions.
So here’s wrapping up this fantabulous Friday! Thanks for joining and I hope your weekend is brimming with joy and goodness!
